Kahlan and Zedd fall victim to a horrific plague unleashed by Darken Rahl as part of his desperate attempt to find the Three Boxes of Orden.

[edit] Episode synopsis

Darken Rahl raids a village where Jennson is living, looking for the Boxes of Orden. Jennson, pursued, throws them into a lake. When Rahl's soldiers find her, they beat her mercilessly causing her to lose her memory, and then taking her to Rahl. Rahl tells her that Richard is the evil one, and he just wants the welfare of his people.

Meanwhile, Richard, Kahlan, and Zedd enter a camp who have been stricken with the Fire Fever. Rahl has cursed the camp to have this fever, and he will not provide the cure unless they bring him the seeker's head. Zedd sets about healing them, and Richard goes to find the Boxes in the lake. Meanwhile, Rahl has convinced Jennson that she needs to steal the boxes from Richard and bring them to him. She succeeds, but Richard captures her, and restores her real memory.
