Hagen Woods

The Hagen Woods is located near to the Palace of the Prophets in the Old World. It is forbidden to enter, because of the danger to anyone who enters, and certain death to any who remain after the sun has set. Richard Rahl finds solace in the Hagen Woods, in the second book in the series, Stone of Tears. It is revealed that the woods were created solely for him, thousands of years ago, because he is the only wizard born in three thousand years to be born with both additive and subtractive magic, and is thus able to detect the deadly and vile Mriswith (once-wizards who gave up their human form for a perverted power) which, along with other incredibly deadly things, populate the Hagen Woods.
