Nicholas

Nicholas was a magically altered wizard who was created by Sisters of the Dark on the orders of Emperor Jagang. He was created using old books from the Great War that Jagang had acquired, into what is called a Slide.

Despite being a formidable opponent in his own right, Nicholas himself was in fact just a test of whether Jagang's Sister's could actually alter wizards, as had been done in the last war. Jagang was able to have the unpredictable Blood Beast created after Nicholas was created and he saw Nicholas as just a distraction to Richard.
Nicholas was the leader of the forces that occupied Bandakar, which was the homeland of the pristinely ungifted descendants of the Lord Rahls. Richard with the aid of the people of Bandakar destroyed the Imperial Order forces in Bandakar and in the process killed Nicholas.
