A verification web is used to test if a spell is performed correctly. It can be used as a test run before performing a complicated spell. It can be done from an exterior and interior perspective. An interior perspective is rarely done but it is believed that an interior perspective reveals more. The spell once performed has to run its course and can't be stopped. However, Richard Rahl once stopped a verification spell in the book Phantom. Nicci with the help of Zedd, Ann, and Nathan used a verification web to do an interior perspective of the chainfire spell. The spell worked but Richard had to stop short because the spell was corrupted and was going to kill Nicci. Richard figured out a way to shut it down with his subtractive magic and his understanding of the magic emblem of the spell for creating the Chainfire verification web.
